I have experienced the frustration that can go with this and also had a chance to try out many different programs. Microsoft Publisher comes complete with some business card templates as well as other templates for other types of documents. You can also get Microsoft Publishher templates from the same site. This is probably the easiest option because almost everyone has Microsoft Word on their computer and the templates are free. They often cost much more than the dedicated programs so are not worth buying unless you plan on doing other graphics work with them. Another downside is that they take quite a bit of technical skill to learn to use. Usually, these are best for graphics designers and people that are so inclined. Be careful when using them because some do not allow you to download the design for your own printing and instead want you to use the printer who provides it to print your cards.
