If you are trying to print business cards on your own it can be very time consuming to design them. You have to think about the layout, colours, font styles and all those little details. By using templates you can save yourself some precious hours.

However, it is still a good idea to make a few changes to the template in order to personalize your cards, but this won’t take you nearly as long as starting from scratch.

- Customize the template colours to match those of your logo or corporate identity.
- Try out two or three different templates and see which one is best.
- Delete any unwanted elements on the business card design.
- Add additional graphics where appropriate to make your business card more appealing.
- Cut the cards very carefully in order to have a neat finish. A poor finish to the card will mean all the effort in making it is wasted. Use a guillotine if possible, rather than scissors or get precut paper instead.
- Ensure your printer settings are matched to the paper type you are printing on to have a good fit on the paper.
